Leeri couldn’t see anything again, not even his own limbs as he tried to wave his hand in front of his own face. But this time, his vision wasn’t entirely pitch black. A blinding yellow light consumed everything around him. His entire body felt numb to any feeling.

Then he heard the voice that he could only recognize as belonging to the Sun Goddess.

“Go to Dar'itim...”

Leeri was too numb to reply. All he could do was listen to the voice.

“Go to Dar'itim... Child of Light... Go to Dar'itim...”

The voice repeated itself half a dozen more times. The blinding light dimmed slowly with each repetition. He found himself yet again standing upon a floating island in the sky, surrounded by a grove of ash trees. At the base of each tree, there was a small crystal that could fit in the palm of a hand. The crystals ranged in color: red, green, dark blue, light purple, gold, silver, and black.

Instinctually, Leeri picked up the black crystal and stared at it. Then, he heard the voice of the Sun Goddess call out from beyond the grove:

“You have remained true to the Way of the Light… Go to Dar’itim… Light the Spark of Truth within Chaos… and Love shall return to the Child of Light.”

“Please Lady Mother,” Leeri begged. “Allow me to remain here upon the Holy Heaven.”

Glowing reptilian eyes appeared directly in front of Leeri in the fog. A gruff, dragon-like voice spoke, “The Mother hath issued a command to the Child of Light. Go forth and be the lightning-struck prophet within the darkest nights of Korth.”

A griffin appeared out of thin air and nudged the black crystal in Leeri’s hand. Then, it too spoke in a malevolent tone, “Go forth with the blessings of Shadow in the darkest nights of Korth.”
